CDMUG has been contacted about this event. Greenstreetproject.org will be
developed using Drupal. A few CDMUG members will be attending and we
encourage others to join us. We will be meeting at De Paul's CTI loop campus
around 1 pm, then off to City Hall .9 miles away. If you are interested in
attending, please email me @ [address removed]

What:
The Chicago Mayor's Office launched a public/private sector initiative to
help build healthy communities across the City. The initiative intends to
bring Chicagoans together in order to make connections between communities
and resources that can help. The public face for this initiative will be a
very visible, user-generated Website, which will be built by the
Chicago-based non-profit Green Street Project in collaboration with
Chicago's technology community. The initiative will hold a special briefing
at City Hall for technology leaders, experts, executives and corporations
interested in participating as advisors, partners, and sponsors.

Initiative Leadership:
The Mayor's Executive Assistant and Community Liaison, Sean Harden, chairs
the commission that oversees this initiative, and Green Street Project
serves as the fiscal agent and project lead.

Who Should Attend Briefing:
Technology executives and experts, web developers, programmers, equipment
vendors, systems integrators, and hosting companies

Agenda:
Attendees will 1) receive an executive briefing of the Community Building
Initiative and its planned Website; 2) engage in a facilitated feedback
session to ensure the initiative listens to the perspective of the
technology community; and 3) discuss specific ways for technology experts
and companies to help build the site and its infrastructure.

Please note that this public/private sector initiative seeks technology
advisors, collaborative partnerships, and in-kind sponsors. This is not a
request for fee-for-service bids.

Registration Required:
Admittance to the event is free and by registration only. Space is limited.
Please email Todd McMeen at [address removed] or call
773-275-4255 to register and receive event details.
