Surrey Drupal Users Group September Meetup

You are invited to join the Surrey Drupal Users Group for our next meetup on Sept. 11, 2008

We will be meeting at our regular meeting place at ABC Country Restaurant in Fleetwood. 15373 Fraser Highway, Surrey at 7 - 9 pm. Free WiFi is available. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available to order.

Newcomers to Drupal are welcome to come and bring your questions. Check out my Drupal 101 Training Blog at http://www.mydrupal.c.... Give me your suggestions for good training resources. I'm looking for links to your favourite screencast or online tutorial. I want to add recipe style tutorials to the site. Your feedback is welcomed!

Hello fellow Surrey Drupalleers,

It was great to see so many of you at the Drupal Camp Victoria this past weekend. From our meetup, Katy, Ryan, Dale, Andrew, John F., Joseph, Amir, Manley attended. Other campers came from Vancouver including Audrey, Karen, Nicky, Vanessa, Sean, Dave and others.

4 enthusiastic people have RSVPd YES for this week's event on Sept. 11th. Let me know if you are planning to come out this Thursday evening. Since the numbers are small, we will probably have an informal evening with lots of time for Q&A.

Bring your laptop and extension cords and we'll have a working meetup. Let's do some practical examples of the great things we learned at Drupal Camp.

About Drupal 5 vs. Drupal 6:
- NorthStudio.com is still using Drupal 5 since many of their top indispensable modules are still not ready for Drupal 6.
- ImageXMedia.com is starting to use Drupal 6 for their new projects

I'm looking for suggestions for October Meetup. Let me know what topics you are interested in learning about. I will put up a poll to see what the group is most interested in.

Some things I'm interested in learning more about is:
- Theming
- Views and CCK
- making Drupal site SEO friendly
