VP of Application Development

The Vice President of Application Development will build out our best-of-breed product offering, combining internally and externally built applications together with a rich user experience.

Specifically, he/she will:
? Analyze business requirements and define project technical requirements
? Work closely with software engineers, developers, and key vendors at a hands-on technical level
? Develop, implement, and maintain knowledgebase, policies, and procedures
? Organize projects into a portfolio for managing parallel application development in coordination with infrastructure and core technology development
? Eagerly partner with business stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities, scope, and delivery timelines

Ideal Candidate Profile
? Comfortable gliding in and out of new technologies.
? Demonstrated mastery in building applications for other large organizations.
? Experience with large-scale content management or e-commerce systems.
? Experience with Java, Struts, Ruby-On-Rails, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and RedHat Linux. B2C a plus.
? Experience working with various open source applications and integrating them into an enterprise framework.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills including analytical capabilities, specification gathering/writing, and troubleshooting skills.
? Highly motivated and able to work with marketing, creative, product development, and editorial teams.
? Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
? Excellent communication skills.
? BS/MS in CS or related degree.

? Previous start-up experience.
? Likes to play multiplayer video games.

Compensation
